Old Gippstown again had a very successful Christmas Lunch on Christmas Day – with over 100 people in attendance.
The day was supported by a number of organisations and individuals that donated food and or money. This support allowed us to purchase gifts for everyone that came to the lunch.
This year we again had amazing support from some 20 volunteers. A group of six people came in on Saturday the 24th to help in preparing vegetable and meat for the lunch. Then on Sunday the 25th we had volunteers arriving at 9am to set tables and get the area ready.
A bus was organised and commenced to pick up people from as far away as Callignee and then to Yarragon.
By 1pm everyone was seated and ready for a great meal. The meal included turkey, ham, chicken and a range of vegetables. Dessert was plum pudding and fruit salad. Live music was also provided by volunteers and the group enjoyed a session of carols and other music. We were also able to provide a number of fresh produce packages for people to take home.
Everyone that was picked up was then returned home.
From all reports received everyone enjoyed the lunch and the social interaction.

Kind Regards,
Michael Fozard, Manager of Old GIppstown
