History
The Moe Art Society began as a small group called Moe Newborough Art
Group which became Moe City Art Group when we met in the old Moe City
Library. When the library building was sold we then found a
home at Old Gippstown in the historic Narracan Mechanics
Institute Hall.
Group
We are small group of approximately 25 members who meet every Thursday
from 10am to 2pm (except Christmas and
school holidays) in a very
friendly atmosphere where we aim to increase our interest in
art. We work in all mediums and hold an annual
exhibition in Moe. New members are always welcome.
We are a non-profit organisation and we subsidise some artistic
activities for group members, such as, visits to art
galleries and special exhibitions, and thereby encourage further growth
and development. We are located at the park because, like us,
it is a non-profit organisation, and it is a very important facitity to
our community and we want to see it continue to develop.
Exhibitions
With
the support of the Management of the Park our Art Society has also
held Inter-Art Group functions and a well-attended art exhibition in
November last year. It is an excellent venue to display our
paintings.
